Harley Holt has over forty years of experience working with the automotive industry on matters relating to regulatory, safety and environmental issues. Mr. Holt established his own consulting business in 2000 and has assisted companies from Canada, Austria, Brazil, China, Mexico, Israel, Sweden and Venezuela in matters concerning the importation of passenger cars, trucks, buses, trailers, motorcycles and automotive equipment into the U.S. market.
Prior to establishing his firm in 2000, Mr. Holt served as Director of Automotive Standards at the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association where he directed all chassis-related technical activities and conducted educational seminars regarding certification of conversion vans, motorized RVs and RV trailers to US DOT, EPA and CARB requirements.
Mr. Holt has extensive hands-on experience concerning FMVSS compliance testing and research. He was Vice President of General Testing Laboratories and President of the American Testing Institute. His experience ranges from running testing labs to conducting test programs for the military, NHTSA and commercial vehicle manufacturers. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers.
